Abstract

Stunting is one of the nutritional problems that have a negative impact on the quality of life of children in achieving optimal growth and development according to their genetic potential. Chronic stunting will affect cognitive function, namely a low level of intelligence and have an impact on the quality of human resources. Parents need to be given an understanding of how to accelerate the provision of guaranteed nutritional intake and support normal child development during the growth period to avoid stunting. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between maternal factors and parenting patterns on feeding behavior and practices in children aged under edit. The research design used a cross-sectional approach. Data collection was carried out on a total sample of 35 mothers who had stunting children in the working area of ​​the Ganjar Agung Metro Barat Health Center. Data collection used a knowledge and feeding behavior questionnaire. The results were analyzed univariate and bivariate using the Chi-square Test. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the time of starting complementary feeding and the attitude of parents in parenting stunting children (p 0.046: 0.05). Nurses need to provide health education to increase parents' knowledge about how to care for children in preventing stunting in children.
