Abstract

The maternal mortality rate (MMR) is one of the indicators that most often appears due to the high maternal mortality rate caused by several factors ranging from the pre-pregnancy stage such as the condition of fertile women who experience anemia, calorie deficiency, obesity, or other comorbidities. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between the level of maternal knowledge and the incidence of anemia in pregnant women. Quantitative research design with a cross sectional approach. The instrument used is a questionnaire sheet. The population in this study is 24 pregnant women at PMB Nurhasanah Bandar Lampung using the Accidental Sampling technique. The data analysis used was the Chi Square test. The results of the study showed that there was a relationship between repondent knowledge and the incidence of anemia in pregnancy at PMB Nurhasanah Bandar Lampung in 2024 with a value of p = 0.001. A pregnant woman must have enough knowledge to understand about anemia in pregnancy such as the causes of anemia, the impact of anemia, factors that affect anemia so that with good enough knowledge of the mother later the mother can understand about anemia, how to prevent anemia and how to overcome anemia in pregnancy. It is recommended to health workers to be more active in providing education and information about health for pregnant women to the public about maternal health, especially about anemia in pregnancy.
