This study aims to determine whether effleurage can significantly reduce labor pain and improve the overall labor experience for mothers. Methodology: A quantitative research design with a quasi-experimental approach using a one-group pretest-posttest design was employed in this study. The research was conducted at PMB Yoyoh Suherti, involving 15 respondents in the active phase of the first stage of labor. Pain levels were measured before and after the application of effleurage massage using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon test. Results: The study found a significant reduction in pain levels following the application of effleurage massage. The average pain level before the massage was 9.47 (SD = 0.51), while it decreased to 7.13 (SD = 0.74) after the massage. The Wilcoxon test revealed a p-value of 0.000, indicating a statistically significant difference in pain reduction. Conclusions: Effleurage massage has been proven effective in reducing pain during the active phase of the first stage of labor. The significant reduction in pain supports the use of this technique as a nonpharmacological method for managing labor pain. Recommendations: Based on these findings, it is recommended that effleurage massage be incorporated into labor care practices to enhance pain management.
Analia Kunang Istikomah Copyright (c) 2025-01-20 2025-01-20 2 1 FACTORS AFFECTING PATIENTS AND FAMILIES IN REHABILITATION OF NON-HEMORRHAGIC STROKE PATIENTS: A LITERATURE REVIEW https://proceeding.umpri.ac.id/index.php/ISTEHS/article/view/65
Stroke is one of the leading causes of death worldwide and also leads to paralysis in the extremities. In this observation, the aim was to determine whether HSG examination can help improve the quality of medical services for women facing fertility problems (infertility). The study aimed to understand the procedure for handling HSG examination in relation to clinical cases of infertility at the Radiology Installation of Hermina Hospital Bekasi. This study used a qualitative descriptive method with an observational approach. The research sample was taken from one patient who underwent HSG examination for primary infertility cases at Hermina Grand Wisata Hospital Bekasi. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews, and literature studies. The results of the study showed that patients who will undergo HSG examination Patients need to make preparations before the examination, namely it is advisable not to have sexual intercourse after the 9th day of menstruation, because the HSG examination will be performed on the 10th-11th day. In the procedure, the contrast material used is the water soluble type. The radiographic projections taken include AP plan images, and AP post contrast with doses of 3 cc and 5 cc. The conclusion of this study shows that HSG examination produces images showing hydrosalpinx on both sides of the fallopian tube, where the fallopian tube is filled with serous fluid (clear). This condition can complicate the fertilization process, especially if it occurs in both fallopian tubes, so patients often have difficulty getting pregnant.
Sri Soraya Vegy Zheti Ranita Yeni Maharisa Agatha Rimba AR Copyright (c) 2025-01-25 2025-01-25 2 1 EFFECTIVENESS OF P6 -POINT ACUPRESSURE IN PREVENTING POSTOPERATIVE NAUSEA AND VOMITING IN CESAREAN SECTION SURGERY UNDER SPINAL ANESTHESIA: LITERATURE REVIEW https://proceeding.umpri.ac.id/index.php/ISTEHS/article/view/95
Sectio caesarea is an artificial labor rescue through a surgical procedure that is mostly performed with a neuraxial blockade, namely epidural anesthesia, spinal anesthesia or combined spinal-epidural anesthesia. Spinal anesthesia has several side effects, such as hypotension, hypothermia, bradycardia and nausea and vomiting which are common physiological processes. Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) are defined as nausea and vomiting that occurs within 24 hours of surgery as complications of general anesthesia and neuraxial anesthesia. This can increase morbidity due to dehydration, electrolyte disorders, aspiration, wound pain, pneumothorax, subcutaneous emphysema, esophageal rupture resulting in delayed recovery, increased costs, and patient dissatisfaction. PONV can be treated using antiemetics. However, its use is still limited due to costs and side effects. P6 point acupressure therapy is a self-sustaining nursing intervention for the management of PONV that is easy to perform, controlled, non-invasive, has no side effects that can harm the patient and is cost-effective. The purpose of this study was to prove the effect of P6 point acupressure on nausea and vomiting in patients with post-section cesarean with spinal anesthesia. The method used is literature review. The article comes from an electronic journal database that has been published through Google Scholar 134, Science Direct 13 and PubMed 7. The selected articles are based on full text, open access, in English and Bahasa Indonesia, quantitative research, according to keywords and published in the last 5 years (2019 – 2024). There were 5 out of 154 articles identified as meeting the inclusion criteria. The more stimulation from the environment given at an early age, the more synapses between brain cells are connected. Lack of stimulation can cause deviations in children's growth and development and even permanent disorders. The basic abilities of children that are stimulated by directed stimulation are gross motor skills, fine and adaptive motor skills, speech and language skills, and socialization and independence skills. Early detection of developmental deviations needs to be done in order to find out the possibility of deviations, including following up on any complaints from parents regarding their child's developmental problems. If a possibility of deviation is found, early intervention is carried out as a corrective action by utilizing the plasticity of the child's brain so that growth and development are expected to return to normal or the deviation does not become more severe. The research method is a literature review. Articles are taken from the consensus database and Google Scholar in July-August 2024. This research is a pseudo-experimental research with 2x3 factorial design. The population in this study were seventh grade students of SMPN 1 Pringsewu TA. 2023/2024 which is divided into five classes with sampling using cluster random sampling technique consisting of class VII.4 as the experimental class and class VII.2 as the control class. The data collection techniques used are test techniques and questionnaire techniques. Analyzed by two-way variance analysis test with unequal cells with prerequisite tests, namely normality test and homogeneity test. The results of this study showed that: (1) Learning using the Knisley mathematics model has higher learning outcomes than the expository model; (2) Students with high learning interest have higher learning outcomes than students with moderate learning interest and students with moderate learning interest have higher learning outcomes than students with low learning interest. (3) In each learning and in each category of learning interest, there is no interaction between the two, so the results follow the first and second conclusions. Thus, it can be concluded that the Knisley mathematics learning model is better than the expository learning model and students with higher learning interest categories have higher learning outcomes, and vice versa.
Putri Devasari Rahma Faelasofi Rahman Cahyadi Copyright (c) 2025-02-25 2025-02-25 2 1 THE INFLUENCE OF THE USE OF LEARNING MEDIA BASED ON ETHNOMATHEMATICS MINIATURES OF LAMPUNG TRADITIONAL HOUSES ON LEARNING OUTCOMES OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS https://proceeding.umpri.ac.id/index.php/ISTEHS/article/view/117
The use of learning media is one way that can influence the effectiveness of the learning process which of course has a positive impact on student learning outcomes. Based on the pre-research results, it was found that mathematics learning media in miniature Lampung traditional houses with ethnomathematics characteristics had not been used. This research aims to determine the effect of miniature Lampung traditional houses as an ethnomathematics-based learning medium on elementary school students' learning outcomes. Ethnomathematics is a learning strategy that combines mathematics lessons with cultural elements. The research method used is a quantitative method with a Pre-experimental Design research type. The design used is One Group Pre-test-Post-test Design. The population of this research was all class V students at SD Negeri 3 Sendang Agung, totaling 14 students using a sampling technique, namely the saturated sampling technique. The instrument used in this research to collect data is essay questions consisting of 6 items that have been validated. The results of the research show that miniature Lampung traditional houses as an ethnomathematics-based learning medium influence elementary school students' learning outcomes. This can be seen from the post-test average score of 83.43 which is higher than the pre-test average of 47.35. Based on the results of the Paired-Sample T-Test calculation, it was found that there was a significant influence. It can be concluded that the miniature Lampung traditional house is an ethnomathematics-based learning medium that influences the learning outcomes of elementary school students
Yunni Arnidha Afri Mardicko Firda Nur Asfia Copyright (c) 2025-02-25 2025-02-25 2 1 The Effect of Education Using Demonstration Methods on Parents’ Knowledge of First Aid for Febrile Seizures https://proceeding.umpri.ac.id/index.php/ISTEHS/article/view/119
Febrile seizures are a common emergency in children, occurring when body temperature rises above 38°C due to an extracranial process. These seizures typically affect children aged 3 months to 5 years and are related to fever but occur without signs of intracranial infection or other seizure-inducing causes. To analyze the effect of education using the demonstration method on parents' efforts in first aid for febrile seizures. This study employs a pre- experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The population consists of parents with children aged 3 months to 5 years, with a sample size of 44 participants. A questionnaire was used as the research instrument, and data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon test. Prior to education using the demonstration method, most parents had an adequate level of knowledge. After education, 90.9% of parents were classified in the good knowledge category. There was a significant difference between pre- and post-education knowledge levels, with a Wilcoxon test result showing a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that education using the demonstration method positively influences parents' knowledge regarding first aid for febrile seizures.
Novia Heriani Reni Erma Ayuni Copyright (c) 2025-02-25 2025-02-25 2 1 THE EFFECT OF PROVIDING EDUCATIONAL MEDIA THROUGH WHATSHAPP GROUPS ON CHILDREN'S KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE COVID-19 PROTOCOL https://proceeding.umpri.ac.id/index.php/ISTEHS/article/view/120
The case fatality rate caused by covid-19 worldwide is 3.4%.
