Abstract
Elderly is a process that cannot be avoided, self-awareness is needed to maintain a high level of health. With increasing age, physiological changes occur accompanied by various health problems that cause high degenerative diseases, one of which is hypertension. Hypertension occurs among the elderly due to a decrease in the physiological system, especially the cardiovascular system. Non-pharmacological management for hypertension is carried out by changing lifestyles such as weight reduction, dietary regulation, regular exercise, reducing stress, and classical music. This type of research is a quantitative quasi-experimental design using a one group pretest post test design. The sample used is 30 people. Test the hypothesis with the paired sample t-test. The results showed that before classical music therapy, the average blood pressure was 120.02 (Mean Arterial pressure), and was in the minimum and maximum blood pressure range of 110 to 138.5. After classical music therapy, the average blood pressure was 112.02 (Mean Arterial Pressure), and was in the minimum and maximum pressure range of 96.5 to 133.2. The results of the t-test (paired sample t-t-test (paired sample t-test) blood pressure (mean Arterial Pressure) before and after classical music therapy was given p-value = 0.000 (p-value).
