Factors of Stunting in Toddlers: Systematic Review

Abstract

Background : Health problems in toddlers is the incidence of stunting . Stunting is a condition where toddlers experience a lack of nutritional intake for a long period of time so that children experience growth disorders, namely their height is shorter than the standard age. The cause of stunting is an imbalance in nutritional intake in the first 1000 days of life. Objective : This systematic review aims to find evidence based on published articles related to the incidence of stunting in toddlers . Inclusion criteria : The inclusion criteria in this review are original articles, articles in English, articles about stunting and journals published in 2017-2022. Method : The review method uses a systematic review using the PRISMA For Systematic Review obtained from the Ebsco, Pubmed, Scient direct, Proques t database. Result : The results of the review obtained 15 out of 1006 selected articles. The incidence of stunting in toddlers was grouped into 4 themes, namely child factors , maternal factors , environmental factors and dietary habit . Conclusion : In this review, articles related to the causes of stunting were found, so it is recommended that further researchers conduct research related to the handling of stunting based on the causal factors in the hope that the problem of stunting in toddlers can be resolved.
