Dysmenorrhea is pain during menstruation that is felt in the lower abdomen and appears before, during or after menstruation. This problem is very disturbing for teenage girls, so it can reduce their productivity as students. One of the efforts to reduce dysmenorrhea pain in teenage girls is safe, easy and effective by giving warm compresses. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving warm water compresses to dysmenorrhea pain in teenage girls at SMK KH. Ghalib Pringsewu, in 2022. This research design uses Quasi Experiment with One Group Pre-Posttest Design approach. Sampling of 40 respondents, using purposive sampling technique. Where, all respondents were menstruating days 1-3, experienced dysmenorrhea and did not use any drugs as pain relievers. The instruments used are the standard operating procedure of warm compresses and the Numeric Rating Scale pain scale observation sheet. The warm compress intervention was carried out every time and as long as the pain was felt. The results of this study indicate the average pain scale before being given a warm compress is 6.32, after intervention the average pain scale is 2.90. The results of the analysis using the Paired T-Test, obtained p-value of 0.000 or a < 0.05, with a mean pain scale of 3.42. This means, giving warm water compresses is effective in reducing the dysmenorrheaa pain scale in teenage girls. It is hoped that young women can do it independently at home to reduce dysmenorrhea at other times.
