The Correlation Between Family Support and Participation Covid 19 Vaccination in The Elderly at The Seputih Banyak Health Center, Central Lampung, 2022

Abstrak

Covid-19 is still the main focus of health problems in various countries around the world with an increasing number of cases that continue to occur. The high incidence and even death rates due to Covid-19, especially in the elderly, encourage concrete actions to break the chain of transmission, one of which is the Covid-19 vaccination. The implementation of the Covid-19 vaccination that has not been optimal can be influenced by various factors, one of which is family support. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family support and participation in the Covid 19 vaccination in the elderly at the Seputih Banyak Health Center, Central Lampung in 2022. This research is an analytical survey research with a cross-sectional design. The population in this study was the elderly at the Seputih Banyak Health Center, Central Lampung with a sample of 76 respondents. The sampling technique used in this research is accidental sampling. Data analysis in this study was carried out using the chi-square test. Univariate analysis revealed that respondents with good family support were 44 respondents (57.9%) and respondents with complete vaccination were 58 respondents (76.3%). The results of the bivariate analysis revealed that there was a relationship between family support and participation in carrying out the Covid 19 vaccination for the elderly at the Seputih Banyak Health Center, Central Lampung in 2022 with a p-value of 0.032 and an Odds Ratio of 3.800. For health workers to be able to involve elderly families in vaccination programs for the elderly in optimizing vaccine coverage in the community, especially in the elderly.
