Premenstrual Syndrome ; Type, Symptoms and Risk Factor in Teenangers Girls

Abstrak

Premenstrual syndrome is a physical and mental symptom which occurs 7- 14 days before the onset of menstruation, affect women during the reproductive age. Our objective was to determine the type, symptoms and risk factors of premenstrual syndrome in teenager's girls. Cross-sectional study, a survey was conducted at the Islamic Boarding School. Participants were a convenience sample of 51 teenagers girls (14-16 years). Type and symptoms of PMS used Abraham's Menstrual Symptomatology Questionare. Types of PMS experienced by all participants included typesRepeated Stem A, H, C and D. Symptoms in PMS typeRepeated Stem A, most of the subjects (72.54%) experiencedRepeated Word feelings of sensitivity. PMSIncomplete sentence type's HH, mostly (19.60%) experiencedRepeated Word breast tenderness. PMS type's C most of the subjects (74.50%) experiencedRepeated Word excessive hunger, and PMS type D most of the subjects (39.21%) wanted to cry and (27.45%) experiencedRepeated Word weakness, sleep disturbances, and confused feeling. The risk factors for PMS are mostly 80.39% of the subjects often consume processed foods. Most of the subjects 37.25% at least one exercise in one week, 33.33% of the subjects who did exercise every day, and 25.50% of the subjects did not exercise in one week. Types of PMS experienced by all participants included types A, H, C and D with symptoms vary.
